Orlando Health said last week about 3,200 patients’ records were accessed illegally by one of its employees, who was fired during an investigation.
The hospital system said it discovered the data breach on May 27. A news release on Thursday, July 2, said it began notifying patients “today,” which would be more than 30 days after the breach.
According to the release, there was no evidence that the data was copied or used illegally, but Orlando Health reported the incident in accordance with its data breach policies. Read more at the Orlando Sentinel....
